Incorporated in 1908, Fallon is the county seat of Churchill County. The City of Fallon is home to approximately 8,300 residents. The nearby Fallon Naval Air Station is home to some 3,000 additional residents, while population of the entire county averages around 26,000.
At an elevation of 3,965 feet, slightly lower than the surrounding high desert landscape, Fallon enjoys a temperate climate. Long a prosperous agricultural region, Fallon has grown to be a thriving business community with diverse economic interests. The area’s main agricultural crops continue to be alfalfa and award-winning Hearts of Gold cantaloupes. Dairy cows and other livestock are also prevalent in the county.
